Ashcroft case to the U.S. Court of Appeals in defense of immigrants, causing the U.S. Court of Appeals (7th Circuit) to rebuke the Immigration Judges and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) for a pattern of serious misapplication of the law . Godfrey has appeared before the U.S. Supreme Court and before a number of the U.S. Federal Appellate Circuit Courts. He has extensive appellate experience before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and extensive experience before the Immigration Courts. Godfrey has the knowledge and experience to handle the most complex immigration and Citizenship issues, including appeals, motions to reopen and motions to reconsider, waivers, VAWA, U-Visa, Asylum Court Hearings, as well as family-based immigration issues.

Godfrey Muwonge was the first attorney to address the State Bar of Wisconsin on the problem of criminal convictions in state courts affecting immigrants’ status, adjustment and possible removal issues. He is a frequent advisor to criminal defense lawyers on Immigration Law issues. He is member of the Board of Directors of The Immigrant Defense Organization and an of-counsel attorney to the Catholic Services Legal Services of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, where he instructs and mentors young immigration lawyers.
